I'm happy for anybody willing to invest in Gloucester.
It will be interesting to see how the neighborhood group that opposed Paint Factory conversion to condos reacts to this news. The condo conversion plan would have preserved the facade and paint color of the building but the neighborhood group opposed the project on the basis of the increased traffic that it will bring.

I know this will not be a comment that many want to hear, but I have to say that I'm always boggling at all of the things that get negative response
because of fears of "traffic". The worst traffic I've ever seen on Cape Ann pales by comparision to the every day traffic in many places! Gads.
What passes for "traffic" on Cape Ann just cracks me up, frankly.

I don't see how the building could be salvaged in any shape or form at this point - so many obstructionists kept it rotting away year after year thereby
destroying any hope of maintaining even the facade. The building is damn near ready for collapse.... It's a shame.
I hope something goes in there quick, it's been long enough. |

I'm happy for anything that gets through the permitting process.
