I have come to the conclusion that there are people who just feed off of nastiness. The more hateful, vituperative, insulting, and extreme someone is in their
attacks on others, the better those kinds of people like them. They don't care about the truth, they don't care about balance, they don't care
about two-sides, they want to wallow in the spewing of hatefulness that they are personally afraid to engage in. I call it the Colosseum Syndrome --- they
think they are Romans getting to turn their thumbs up or down (mostly down).
I love Olbermann because he deals with things with humor --- maybe a tad extreme at times but give me humor over vicious childishness any day. Thoreau said that most men lead lives of quiet desperation. Those quietly desperate folks seem to idolize the attack dogs.
