Today my wife and I were downtown, and we saw what I concider a insult to a local downtown eatery. An obvious tourists was standing in front of it and was
asking a bystander after they had parked if the place was good place to eat. The meter maid walked accross to them an advised them not to eat there, that a
restuarant down further was better. Is it the job description of a meter maid now to give directions on where to shop or eat? Any Opinions?

Or....She sent them to a place that has slow service! Hoping that their meter will expire out of site from the place they parked near. Result....more money for
the Gloucester coffers!

I would not hesitate to ask any local which restaurant to eat at, city employee or not. There is no obligation to be neutral that I know of. I know not all
agree with me on the subject. When I show tourists around, I tell them the places that I think are good and why. Other people who show the public around try
harder to be neutral.

What's the point of being neutral? Must we pretend everywhere is wonderful? Madness. If you think a place sucks...direct people AWAY from it! How hard is

Not sure, but I am sensing you might be having a bad day? Since I have been on this board, I have not seen you say anything negative about anyone ever. You always seem to look at the positive side. I only wish I had that resolve. You are above this thread in my eyes. You absolutely have a right to your opinion as we all do and I will not judge you for it either way.JMHO I see where this is heading whether intended or not and I know you were hurt by the Poet Laureate appointment.
